The moment I read this prompt, I knew who I wanted to be, if I was a fictional character. The Wimpy Kid himself, Greg Heffley. I had all of the books surrounding his life, even the "Do It Yourself" book where you could create your own Wimpy Kid diary. Just something about him made me want to be him. Perhaps it was the simplicity of his life. Maybe it was how stereotypical his story played out, giving a sense of normalcy that I lacked at the time I first read the books. Something about it kept me up at night reading those books with the light on my track phone when I was supposed to be asleep (yes, I used to actually read). I think I might go back and re-read the books again, now that I'm thinking about it. It was the only whole series I read from cover to cover.
It got to the point that I would have dreams about me being in the book and living through the storyline the series portrayed. I wanted his normal room, his normal family with a mom and dad and two siblings, I wanted his normal school and his normal best friend. That's why I would chose Greg Heffley, from Diary of a Wimpy Kid.
