It's probably cheating, but I would have to chose the main character from my TV show pitch, Entity. His name is Connor Del Rey, and though he endures many hardships throughout the story, his life is infinitely cooler than mine.
Through a multitude of many complex and precarious situations, Connor discovered that the universe is not alone; in fact, an infinite web of parallel realities accompanies the universe we call home. What's even more special about Connor is that, through laborious scientific processes, he engineered a way to travel between these realities, giving him the chance to visit each one (but only once, otherwise you're going to have a bad time). Connor, henceforth tasked with visiting realities and altering their outcomes for the better (and sometimes for the worse, but accidentally), travels the universe for over a decade.
Of course, Connor's life isn't just traveling to all possible timelines of human existence at all points in time; he faces his own share of hardships throughout the story. Drug addiction, near-death experiences, the death of friends, companions, and a fiancé, identity crises, power struggles, oppression, and even mental instability plague Connor his entire life. Through it all, though, he continues his mission of bringing peace and stability to every human being on every version of Earth that he can.
And since I'm in charge of the story, I can just re-write some of the bad stuff out if I don't want to mess with it. Being the writer has its perks.
