Assignment 2: technology

    Over the past twenty years technology has changed the world. Phones, television,and electricity improvements have changed our society. If I had grown up twenty years earlier things would be completely different. 

    Twenty years ago there was little to no cell phone service. My parents were in grad school and the only phone that they had was as big as a brick and there was an antenna longer than a foot. Little did they know that in 20 years so much could change. Our phones now are small, thin, and don't have an antenna. It's so much more convenient so have something that fits in your pocket and can connect you to someone around the world. 

    Today's world is focused on technology, especially cell phones. Everyone's noses are stuffed into their phone trying to discover the next big thing on Twitter or Instagram. If I had lived twenty years ago I think that I would've spent more time outdoors. I spend most of my time inside on my phone and without it I would probably be outside more. I also believe that I would be more involved with the community. 

    Even though there wasn't advanced technology twenty years ago I think that I would've had the same relationships that I do with my friends. If anything, I might not be as close with them. People look at technology as a disadvantage to the communications and relationships of people but if I didn't have a cell phone like I do now I wouldn't communicate with my friends as much as I do which could have hindered the relationship. 

    I would prefer to live in the time that I do now because this advancement of technology has opened so many new doors for communication and education. I wouldn't want my life to be any different.
