Technology is the best thing ever.

A variety of medical conditions, such as Parkinson's Disease, have disabled many around the world from being able to perform basic functions due to the breakdown of their central nervous system. This breakdown causes violent tremors as the disease progresses, making opening doors, carrying objects, or even eating difficult.

However, with the aid of technology, a company called Liftware (now owned by Google due to their incredible advances) has developed a spoon that compensates for involuntary tremors. By using motion-detection sensors as the patient holds it, the spoon is able to counterbalance the tremors, making it possible for the patient to eat soup, cereal, and other foods that were previously inaccessible to them.

Restoring the ability to perform basic functions to those who have lost it is inspiring. Diseases such as Parkinson's take a hard enough toll, and now patients will gain some of their freedom again, all thanks to the positive effects of technology.
