I think, first, we should establish what kind of technology we're
talking about. I'm assuming this discussion is centered around
modern-day electronics. Technology doesn't always mean electronics; it
can mean something as simple as a hammer or the wheel. So since we're
talking about electronics, I can safely say that they have affected my
life positively.
If I didn't have my phone, my tablet,
or even my iPod touch, I would not be the person I am today. If it
weren't for my iPod touch, I'd still be listening to Yo Gabba Gabba
soundtracks with my six-year-old brother. Thankfully, my iPod introduced
me to different kinds of music, because I had never really listened to
modern music on a regular basis before 2011. Sure, the occasional time
I'd visit my mom, but nothing more than that. If it weren't for that,
either, then I wouldn't have discovered One Direction. I wouldn't have
been able to quickly do a google search on "one direction" after seeing
them on SNL, I wouldn't have been able to watch their video diaries and
funny moments on YouTube, I wouldn't have been able to buy all their
music, and I wouldn't be the young lady I am today without their help.
Although
technology does keep me distracted more often than not, it still brings
me immense joy, which I say is a positive effect.
