When I was in the 8th grade, I got my first iPhone. Back then I was so young an naive, I didn't even know how to use Siri. I realize this sounds a little ridiculous but unfortunately, everyone within 10 years of my age knows what I'm talking about. Anyways, the day I got my iPhone I cradled it around like it was my first born child. I wanted to spend the day staring at the shiny black screen of my brand new toy, but there was socializing to be done, for that night was Oktoberfest. I protected my baby in the softest purse i could find and surrounded it with tissues and other soft materials. I might as well should have stuck a fluorescent yellow caution sticker that read, " Come within 50 feet of my purse and you die." I allowed myself to enjoy my friends, and found the night being enhanced by the fact that I could take high quality photos. I even managed to make some new friends, who I was able to keep in touch with by putting their numbers into my phone. Without technology, some friends who were supposed to stick around, could end up getting lost in a sea of faces. The ease in which we can communicate now only builds stronger friendships, and for that I am thankful.
