good vs. evil - Kyle W

Although in movie and books good and evil is typically very clean cut and simple to figure out, in reality it's not that simple. Although there is good and there is evil in the world it’s not split evenly between the two. Nobody is perfect and good to the core and nobody is pure evil. Everyone has a mix of the two; it’s just a matter of what the ratio of good to evil is in a person.
Some people, such as Hitler or Osama Bin Laden may be thought of as evil through and through but somewhere inside there was some good. It’s not like I’m defending them and the things they did, I’m simply saying that at some point in their lives there had to be a time when they showed mercy or loved someone.
On the flip side of that every person, no matter how good they may seem have some evil in them somewhere. Someone such as Martin Luther King Jr. or maybe even your neighbor or cousin who may seem like they have not a single evil bone in their body are not as perfect as they seem. Everyone has a dark side to a certain degree.

For example, Anakin from Star Wars simply wants to do good for the universe but tries so hard to protect the ones he loves that he goes too far and becomes Darth Vader, a sith lord of the Dark Side of the force but even then there is still good in him, which shows when its brought back out when he kills the Emperor, sacrificing himself and sparing his son.
