she's good for more than tortilla chips?? -catherine van tatenhove

The middle table is filled with diverse opinions, personalities, and differing degrees of willingness to partake in the middle table festivities (cough cough matt). Amongst Lucy, Matt, and Kyle is Jordan, my immediate neighbor to the right. On the first day of school that's all Jordan was, my immediate neighbor to the right. Despite having known Jordan through various classes we had together since freshman year I never felt like I really knew Jordan. But, the middle table has changed that for me.

Jordan probably thought up until this point her influence on me has been minimal, but that is far from the case. And, I'm not just talking about her generous tortilla chip contributions. I think every person needs and to some extent has a Jordan. The person who has an intuitive mind, and a person who makes it difficult to feel bad for yourself. Because Jordan's life isn't perfect. It can't be, no ones is. But, she is consistent with the fact that she walks into class everyday with a laid back positive attitude (even if the sky ISN'T so blue).

In five years it's very possible Jordan and I might not have seen each other for years, and I'm okay with that. Because when high school ends we might not remember the middle table or the main idea of the Chavez essay, but I know I'll remember the kind of person Jordan was and the way she carried herself everyday in class. So, thank you Jordan for not only being a great human, but a pretty great neighbor as well.
