Do you know your neighbor? -Emily Spivey

Lauren Spivey.
My life-long neighbor.
To be honest, I almost cried after reading her blog about me and now... I don't even know where to begin...
I've known Lauren for 16 years (almost 17 if you count the womb) and I think there have only been 4 days that we haven't seen each other, which is pretty cool. Our bond strengthens daily.
Lauren thinks that she is seen as the "negative twin" or the "mean twin" but in reality, she isn't. Being her twin gives me the ability to know everything about her. I get to see the real her. I used to think that Lauren was the cool twin and the better twin. She was a part of the "cool group" when we were younger and sometimes I felt out of the loop. But now that we have grown up and gotten closer to each other, I realize that even if this is what I see, it's not what she sees. Lauren isn't happy with her world and I think that gives her a right to be angry and not the bubbly person that she wants to be.
Lately Lauren and I have grown closer. We've both been a little down lately. Sometimes we feel ignored or like we aren't good enough, but that's the good thing about being so close. If she is feeling down, I'll give her encouraging words to cheer up and move on and she will do the same for me. And sometimes, when we both feel glum, we can use each other to help boosts our moods and realize that hey, life isn't so bad.  That's what I love about Lauren. She is so great a providing encouraging words and keeping your mind off of what makes you sad. She tells me to forget about people that have caused a negative impact on your life because you don't need all of that weight pulling you down.
It's crazy to think that in a couple of years we will be going off to college and living on our own. I don't know what I'll do if we go to different colleges. Who will be there to make me laugh or to fangirl with? She's always been there for me and even if we live hours apart from each other, I'd drop anything to go see her.
I'm so thankful to always have someone here for me and someone who can make me laugh. So thank you Lauren for being you! I really do love you and I'm so thankful to have you in my life.
