Flying Turkeys- Jordan Strange

I LOVE Thanksgiving. Almost as much as Christmas. It's just lots of some of the best people all together eating lots of food, and who doesn't love food? Usually, for Thanksgiving, we spend it with our cousins and grandparents, and the week is filled with lots of pumpkin pie and even more card games. Card games are the best. Especially Bid Euchre. If you've never played, I will teach you and it will be one of the best things to ever happen to you. Cards consume our tables more than we consume food. It's pretty great. Aside from eating and playing with the family, every year, my parents host an international Thanksgiving meal. where around 50 international college students come to our house for (most likely) their first American Thanksgiving meal. Its so great. They eat lots of food and then we decorate sugar cookies. And lemme tell ya about cookies. I love decorating cookies. That's one of my favorite traditions ever. You just makes lots of super cool shaped cookies and pile on too much icing and too many sprinkles and then you stuff it in your mouth and continue to make like 10 more. It's the best. So that's usually my Thanksgiving.

But. This year, Mom went out on a limb, and took the family to NYC. And wow. What an experience. Quite different, and very interesting. There's nothing better that sitting in Times Square on Thanksgiving Day, watching with your own two eyes as two gals in American Flag thong bikinis (I'm so sorry for this) walk around with guitars. This, my friends, is America. I didn't know whether to laugh because it's funny, or hurt for them because this is the world we live in. Asides from this, we did go to the Thanksgiving Day Parade and that was super neat.
Thanksgiving is filled with so much love and thankfulness and it's just such a joy! Life is good, friends. Real, real good.
